Top-level research and doctoral training

The analysis research group is part of the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Analysis and Dynamics Research for the years 2014-2019 together with the analysis and mathematical physics groups at the University of Helsinki and the University of Oulu. The inverse problem research group is a member of the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Inverse Problems, which is internationally recognized as the world's leading unit in the field. The department shares the status for the years 2012-2017 and 2018-2025. Many of our researchers have European Research Council (ERC) and Academy of Finland grants. Professor Pekka Koskela was nominated as an Academy Professor by the Academy of Finland for the period 2010-2014. Professor Nicola Fusco (Naples) was selected by the Academy of Finland as a FiDiPro professor at the department.
