Name and Model (Year of Manufacture/Installation)

Varian Cary Eclipse (2009/2009)

General Information

A fluorescence spectrophotometer for analyzation and characterization of compounds.

Fluoresenssispektrometri yhdisteiden analysointiin.

Key Specifications

Sample size: temperature controller & standard single cell holder with base for 10 mm cuvette.

(Sample size need no longer be a restriction. Just leave the sample compartment open whilst collecting data!)

Wavelength range: 200 to 900 nm

  • Red-sensitive Photomultipler tube detectors extend sensitivity up to 900 nm without sacrificing UV performance.

Light source: Xenon flash lamp

  •  The Eclipse captures a data point every 12.5 ms.

Maximum scan rate: 24000 nm / min (without peak shifts)

  • The device can scan the entire wavelength range in under 3 seconds and collect at 80 points/sec for kinetics measurements.
Key Features
  • Various built-in filters on both monochromators enable to minimize scattering or exclude second-order stray light.
  • Single window operation: All controls can be accessed from one window which makes the use of the device quick.
  • The device offers four collection modes including fluorescence, phosphorescence, chemi/bio-luminescence, and time resolved phosphorescence.
