Biomolecules are nanomachines of nature. In biological nanosciences, multidisciplinary research takes place with tools from the cell and molecular biology, chemistry and physics, to solve the secrets of biological systems, down to the atomic level. In the research groups of NSC, we investigate for example microbial processes in various environments, the functional mechanisms of bacteria and bacteriophages,  virus-cell interactions, or the dynamics of cell nucleus and its interactions. In addition, in the research groups of biological nanosciences structures and the structural dynamics of proteins are under investigations. The information captured from these studies may be utilized for example in biomedical applications or in other technological systems.
