The jettiness of event shape at an EIC

We propose the use of 1-jettiness, a global event shape, for exclusive single jet production in lepton-nucleus deep inelastic scattering (DIS). We argue that it provides a quantitative measure of the shape of the final-state QCD radiation in the presence of the hard jet, in particular, when it passes through various nuclear mediums. The nuclear dependence of the event shape provides a powerful probe of color dynamics: propagation, interaction and radiation. We study the jettiness of event shape in terms of soft-collinear effective theory for the kinematics of a future EIC.
