Collaboration and partnerships

The Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences has numerous international, national and local partners.

In the public sector the Major partners include e.g. the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, the Finnish National Agency for Education, and many municipalities.

At the national level, co-operation partners include the Universities of Eastern Finland, Tampere, Oulu and Turku, the National Defence University, the National Institute for Health and Welfare, the UKK Institute, the Paavo Nurmi Centre, as well as other sport and health related research institutes, sport medical centres, and sports institutes.

Aside from JYU Faculties, local partners include e.g. Central Finland Health Care District, Research Institute for Olympic Sports (KIHU), Research Centre for Physical Activity and Health (LIKES), JAMK University of Applied Sciences, the Sports Academy of Central Finland, Peurunka, and Air Force Academy in Tikkakoski.

The faculty also maintains strong and wide-ranging collaborations with international partners across several continents. Co-operation is pursued in the fields of teaching, research, practical training, graduate theses and alumni activities.
