The women wove metres and metres of fabric, and knitted everybody a new pair of socks and mittens. Everybody also got new shoes and a new piece of clothing for Christmas. Maids and daughters were supposed to weave nine skeins of linen thread if they wanted a horse-ride to Christmas church.
