Where to apply?
You will submit your application through the Studyinfo.fi website during the application period. The link will be added here once available.
This section describes the general eligibility requirements for our English-taught master’s degree programmes. Please check the admission criteria of the programme(s) you are applying to for the exact requirements.
To be eligible, you must also submit a complete application. If any of the necessary attachments are missing, we will not be able to process your application.
The admission criteria are programme-specific and detail the specific eligibility requirements and the way in which the admission score for each eligible applicant is calculated in a given programme.
Please make sure to familiarise yourself with the admission criteria of the programme(s) you are interested in applying. You can the find the programmes and their admission criteria under each faculty.
You must submit all the necessary documents for your application to be considered. You can find a full list of all the required attachments in the programme-specific admission criteria. We kindly ask you not to send any other documents, as these cannot be considered and only slow down the processing of your application.
Information regarding online admission interviews
Some of our English-taught bachelor's and master's degree programmes have an online admission interview as part of the programme's admission process. The online admission interviews of the University of Jyväskylä are held with Zoom video conferencing platform (excluding the Master's Degree Programme in Music and Science).
Please note that due to regulatory reasons, Zoom services are restricted in the following countries or regions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Ukraine (Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia regions). Please see further details at Zoom support website.
If an applicant resides in one of these countries or regions, and they are invited to an online admission interview, it is the applicant's responsibility to arrange participation to the interview, for instance by travelling to a country or region where the service can be used.
Individual arrangements
Individual arrangements are practical adjustments the University makes to remove or reduce a disadvantage related to the applicant's disability. You may require special arrangements if you have a diagnosed disability or medical condition that affects your ability to participate in the admission process, such as hearing impairment or dyslexia.

Student intake statistics
Each programme has a defined number of study places open for application. The admission rate is dependent on the number and quality of applications, which naturally vary between admission rounds. If the number of excellent applications is greater than the given number of available study seats, we may decide to accept slightly more applicants than initially announced. As there is no system for clearing, this also ensures that all the study seats will be filled in case some admitted applicants do not accept their offered study place.
