Ghazaleh Saboori is a second-year doctoral researcher. She completed her bachelor and master degree in industrial engineering in system optimization branch in Iran. Her master thesis focuses on uncertainty, single-objective optimization, pricing strategy and inventory decisions.
Currently, she works in the multiobjective optimization in faculty of Information Technology at the university of Jyväskylä in Finland. Her research focuses on energy systems and the development of methodologies for identifying reliable strategies under deep uncertainty. Deep uncertainty arises when assigning reliable probabilities to future events is difficult or impossible. Instead, the focus shifts to evaluating system performance across a wide range of plausible disruption scenarios, potentially thousands. The goal is to identify robust and resilient decisions (strategies) that maintain reliable performance in terms of, for example, security of supply, profitability, and costs across these scenarios.
Another focus of her research is antifragility, an emerging concept that goes beyond robustness and resilience. While robust systems withstand disruptions and resilient systems recover from them, antifragile systems can benefit from disruptions and improve their performance. Her research explores how this concept can be translated into practical methodologies for energy system planning and decision-making.
