I am Post-doctoral Grant Researcher in the History of Philosophy at the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy. In the past I have worked on subjects involving the intersection of moral philosophy, epistemology, moral psychology and metaphysics in the Platonism of Late Antiquity, in both its Hellenic, Christian and Arabic forms. In this work, I have focused most on the Neoplatonist Proclus and the Christian theologian Dionysius the Areopagite. More recently, I have been working on new interpretations of Plato.

More recently, I have been working on investigating how Plato engages in a kind of social epistemology by attempting to develop philosophy as a process of social knowledge-building (both ontological and moral knowledge) in his dialogues. The focus of this work is Plato's dialogue 'Phaedrus', which I regard as a primary text for understanding Plato's social epistemology.
