Pitching tracks

The event will have two pitching tracks:

  1. STARTUP track for incorporated startups.

     If you have a company, you are good for this track. 

  • Applicants can be any startups looking for funding globally.
  • Max. number of startups to be selected for the pitching event.
  • You will need to attend on location in Jyväskylä at the event to participate.
  • Pitching format: 4min pitch + 4 min questions
  • The VC panel will grade the cases based on the pitches investability, i.e. who would the panel most want to invest in
  • Minimum prize purse of €5000 for the winning startup
  • Applicants will be evaluated on:
  1. Preliminary deck max. 10 slides
  2. 1min elevator pitch video done on your phone (do a simple selfie video max 1min and pitch your startup)

  1. Research based cases or R2B cases 

    PRE-INCORPORATION track for students, researchers and professors as well as individuals that have an idea, technology or research results that they would like to commercialize. If you are planning on getting commercialization funding like Proof Of Concept or Business Finland R2B this is a great opportunity to get your idea out there and refine your idea with the leading deep tech investors

  • Application timeline ends Nov 30, 2025
  • 10 of the best technology/research cases will be pre-screened for pitching nationally
  • 30 students will be selected for pitching, 3 per tech case ^
     
  • Apply to pitch as a student https://forms.gle/mGXSySnNFbJ9JKSTA
  • Chosen students will be matched with the technology cases for introductions and preparation
  • 10 of the 30 students will be chosen for the finals
  • Pitching format is 2 minute pitch and 2 minutes of questions
  • Evaluation will be weighted on both the presentation communication and the material contents/impact/potential of the idea. Deeptech cases get preference, but this is not a requirement.
  • Pitches will be evaluated by The VC panel
  • In the “R2B” track the winner gets a prize purse of minimum €2000
    • The prizes are awarded directly to the presenting individual and the individuals from the research team. This prize does not relate to any ongoing projects or companies. This is an individual recognition.
  • Applicants can be from anywhere, but you will need to be able to attend the pitching event on the 12th in Jyväskylä physically.
