Open call to Students and Academics

Students can sign up for:

• Attend the European Conference in Kristiansand. FORTHEM scholarship is available for 4 students per university.
• Propose concept related to the themes of democracy, human rights and freedom of expression on their own campuses or in collaboration with other universities online (please also see if this can be funded as a Lab-related student project)
• Sign up because you or your student organization are interested in the topic – we will help you to get involved on your campus.

Academic staff can propose event ideas or concepts for Democracy week 2024:

• Participate as speaker or panel member, digitally or in Kristiansand.
• Collaborate on preparing discussion topics for the live events.
• Plan and record an online seminar about a topic related to their field.

Dates and Deadlines

• Democracy week 2024 will be held 2-8 May 2024.
• Social media campaigns, recording of digital content, etc may take place before this week.
• Deadline for the proposal of events or activity concepts is 15 February.
• Experts and students participating as speakers, interviewers, panel participants, can still join projects until 28 February.
