Instructions for students arriving to JYU through collaboration networks
Students from other Finnish higher education institutions may complete network studies offered by the University of Jyväskylä through cross-institutional study arrangements. This page provides instructions on how students from other Finnish higher education institutions can register for network study courses offered by the University of Jyväskylä. You may include these studies as part of the elective studies in your degree. You are eligible to complete studies if you are registered as an attending student and your study right is valid at your home institution. You may complete studies within the educational collaboration networks for which you have a study right.
How do I register as a cross-study student for network studies at the University of Jyväskylä?
Registration for courses offered by the University of Jyväskylä is completed through your home institution’s Sisu or Peppi system. Instructions for registering for cross-institutional studies can be found on your home institution’s website or by searching online, for example, “UEF cross-institutional studies”.
Validity of the Cross-Study Right
The validity period of a cross-study right varies between networks. Study rights are granted for individual courses. Most study rights are valid for one academic year. Your right to complete studies at the University of Jyväskylä ends when your study right at your home institution expires.
Important Information About Course Registration
When you register for network studies through your home institution’s Sisu or Peppi system, you will automatically be granted a study right within the network, provided that you are eligible. Before you can begin your studies and log in to the JYU Moodle learning environment, you must activate your university user account.
Where Can I Find the Course Learning Environment and Learning Materials?
The University of Jyväskylä uses JYU Moodle and TIM as learning environments. Once you have activated your university user account, you can use your credentials to log in to the learning environment. If your course registration has been successfully completed, you will find the course materials in the learning environment and can begin your studies.
When Will the Course Offering for the Next Academic Year Be Published?
The University of Jyväskylä aims to publish the course offering for the following academic year by the end of May. Some degree programmes update their course offerings in two stages: the autumn semester offering is published in May, and the spring semester offering is published in December.
