Researchers' Night 2026

Researchers' Night illuminates the autumn evening of Jyväskylä together with the City of Light on the 25 of September 2026.

Researchers' Night opens the doors of researchers' laboratories all around Europe and presents current research.

As a multidisciplinary programme Researchers’ Night offers a wide range of activities from workshops to laboratory visits and expert lectures.

The programme is designed to have something to do for the whole family, and during the day there are activities for school groups. We welcome people of all ages to explore the world of science.

This year, Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) will also be participating in Researchers' Night.

The programme includes laboratory visits to chemistry, as well as workshops in the disciplines of physical education and music, and much more.

Researchers' Night programmes are available on every campus of the University. The campus area is easy to get from one place to another on foot. For specific information about the facilities, the programme descriptions will be updated on the programme page at a later date.

The University has a limited number of parking spaces, so we recommend arriving on foot, by bike or public transport. Local transport Linkki-buses run free of charge in the evening from 18-24, making it easy to get to the campuses.

However, if you arrive by car, the University of Jyväskylä uses the eParking app. To make parking in the University area easier, be sure you have the eParking app in use. If you are a JYU student or staff member, login to the application with your Haka credentials. Visitor parking follows the street parking prices in the area.

Whether you are parking during chargeable hours or outside of them, you must always register your vehicle when parking in the area.
