Conferment of Degrees Ceremony - Dress code
Conferment of Degrees Ceremony participants are required to follow the traditional dress code and behavioral norms.
Dress code is traditionally written for women and men. Nowadays the promovendi may dress according to their gender identity. Choose either option 1 or option 2 and dress accordingly throughout all Conferment Ceremony festivities. You may not combine the options.
General instructions for all
Student's cap
Student's cap should be worn at the Garland weaving dinner and the Degree Ceremony cruise by all those who own one.
Accessories
Bags, wristwatches, striking jewellery or fur are not used at the Act of Conferment. A hidden pocket for small objects can be sewn into a skirt at the waist, for example. Jewellery and small bag is allowed at the dinner and Ball.

- Hemline can be wide.
- No big jewelry
- Overcoats are not used.
White gloves: Gloves can be short at the Act of Conferment but should at least cover wrists. At the Degree Ceremony dinner and Ball the gloves must be long.
Shoes should fit the colour of the dress. Shoes need to be practical enough to walk during the degree ceremony procession from the University Main Building to the church.

- If it is unreasonably difficult to modify the outfit, the sword can also be carried in the left hand.
- Wearing a doctoral hat is obligatory for doctoral promovendi. The hat is used in the day and evening events of the conferment day.
