Sports hall sessions for JYU staff
This page provides information on how staff can apply for sports sessions at the University of Jyväskylä
Instructions for users and the person responsible for the sports hall sessions:
- The contact person will be notified by email in case there are any cancellations of the sports sessions. Users are responsible for checking the status of the booking from the KOVS system, since we do not send reminders about cancellations. It is not possible to get a replacement session for sessions that have been cancelled in advance. Canceled sessions will not be refunded.
- Access card of the person responsible for the sports session is coded so that he or she has access to the sports hall. If there are any problems with the access card, please contact the Clavis Service Desk: key-support@jyu.fi.
- Access to the Liikunta building (L) with an access card is from the exterior door on the tennis courts side of the building. In the evenings and on weekends, a PIN code must also be used at the front door.
- Access to the Norssi sports hall with an access card is from the exterior door "E" (low part of the building). The women's dressing room can be found on the front left of the lobby and the men's dressing room can be found on the front right of the lobby (near the coat racks). Access to the sports hall is through the dressing rooms. Show your card to the reader at the dressing room door and then push the door hard.
- Access to the tennis courts and Campus sports field does not require a key.
- If the person responsible for the sports session changes during the season, the Facility Services must be notified by contacting Facility Services via HelpJYU Service Portal.
- Outdoor shoes, high heels or black-soled shoes that leave marks must not be worn in the sports facilities. Sand and pebbles damage the floor.
- As the surface of the floors in the sports facilities is easily damaged, e.g. exercise equipment or key chains must not be dropped on the floor.
- Return all movable items back to their place. The person responsible for the sports session makes sure that the hall is maintained in a tidy condition after the session and that windows are closed. Goals and benches must be put in place.
- The hall must be empty for the next users immediately after the sports session (meaning that equipment must be taken away in good time and players may not stay in the hall to dress).
- When you leave, make sure the space is clean, turn off the lights and close the doors.
- Keeping the exterior doors open during the sports session is strictly forbidden. Keeping the exterior doors open will immediately result in a loss of the sports hall session.
- Violations of the rules will lead to a loss of the sports hall session.
- If you notice problems related to the facility or the equipment or something breaks, submit a service request via the QR code on the door of the hall.
- Players must bring their own equipment, such as rackets and balls.
