We support students and teaching staff at the Department of Language and Communication Studies (Kivi) and the Centre for Multilingual Academic Communication (Movi) in matters relating to their studies and education. We also prepare various decisions and guidelines concerning education, as well as overseeing their implementation.
Our core tasks for students include
- study guidance and advice on study plans from the start of studies right through to graduation
- support with course enrolment
- limited guidance on the use of student information systems
- advice on issues relating to recognition or prior learning, study rights and teacher qualifications, as well as accessibility matters
- coordination of tutoring.
Our core tasks for teachers and departments include
- curriculum development and management: expert support for preparation and development, system-level coordination and maintenance, and monitoring and ensuring functionality
- academic scheduling and course catalog production: expert support for preparation and development, timetabling, booking facilities, and system-level maintenance.
- providing guidance and information on academic administration matters
- support for educational and guidance development.
In addition, we support departments in the following educational matters:
- student recruitment and applicant guidance
- orientation for new students
- implementation of student admissions
- development of the course catalog
- completion of studies
- preparation of contracts for part-time teachers.
