Book launch and round table: Johann Heinrich Gottlob von Justi (1717–1771):Philosoph – Kameralist – Publizist
Editors and authors Ere Nokkala (Jyväskylä) and Gideon Stiening (Munich) together with authors, Jonas Gerlings (Halle), Adriana Luna-Fabritius (Helsinki), Danila Raskov (Uppsala) and Keith Tribe (Jyväskylä), discuss their new book Johann Heinrich Gottlob von Justi (1717–1771):Philosoph – Kameralist – Publizist (De Gruyter).
The authors will ask why von Justi is such a key figure for our understanding of the Enlightenment, and what repercussions for the broader field of Enlightenment Studies might there be from any revision to his current reputation. What are the most promising prospects for future studies in the field?
