Jyväskylä University Museum is the oldest museum in Jyväskylä. It was established in September 7th, 1900, as a part of the teacher seminar. The first collection included ethnographic objects from the students’ home regions. Today, the University Museum is a multifaceted combination of culture heritage and natural history services in addition to various public outreach activities at the University of Jyväskylä Open Science Centre.
To celebrate the 125. anniversary the University Museum organizes a Science for All event that offers a panel discussion on the museum history, a improvisation theater programme by the Improvisation Theater Joo!
