The daytime programme: Remembering the past and imagining the future
The 60th anniversary celebration starts on Thursday, 6 November 2025, at 9:15 a.m. in the Martti Ahtisaari Hall in Agora. The event is open to all, but registration is required. A large number of the Faculty’s staff, alumni, students and other invited guests are expected to attend. The programme for the day will be held in Finnish. The dress code for the event is smart casual.

Alumni Programme brings together current and former students and staff of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science
On Thursday, 6 November 2025 from 13:30 to 15:00, alumni of the Faculty will have the opportunity to learn more about its research and education. The Faculty will organise visits to laboratories and various learning environments. The day is an excellent opportunity to meet old and new acquaintances, reminisce about the past and discover the latest developments in the Faculty’s education and research.

Unforgettable evening celebration
The celebration will culminate in an evening party for staff, alumni, and invited guests, starting at 18:00 at Scandic Laajavuori. The programme features interesting speeches, official celebrations, and informal socialising. There are a limited number of places available for the evening event. Registration for the evening event opens on 9 September 2025. The dress code for the evening is dark formal wear. The programme of the day will be held mainly in English.

Donations for freshwater pearl mussels
The Faculty of Mathematics and Science at the University of Jyväskylä hopes that any potential donations will be directed to the freshwater pearl mussel research at the Konnevesi Research Station. By donating, you support the research carried out at Konnevesi and help protect this endangered species from extinction.
