Facility reservation guidelines for students

You can make a reservation for group work or self-study purposes

Students can reserve teaching rooms, meeting rooms and group work rooms for study-related activities, such as group work or independent study. Room reservations are free of charge for students.

Which facilities can I reserve?

  • Students can reserve most of the university's teaching rooms, meeting rooms and group work rooms.
  • Students cannot reserve auditoriums, sports facilities, lobby areas or computer classrooms.
  • Computer classrooms are available for students to use when they are not reserved for teaching or other activities.

How to reserve a room

  • Make your reservation through the Navi map service (navi.jyu.fi) or the MyJYU mobile app.
    • MyJYU now includes a quick reservation feature, available from the side menu under Room Reservation.
  • You can also reserve a room by scanning the QR code located next to the room entrance.
  • You can reserve a room for a maximum of 4 hours per day and up to 5 days in advance.
  • You can find more detailed reservation instructions on HelpJYU.

Remember these

  • Please cancel your booking if you no longer need the space, so that others can use it.
    • The easiest way to cancel a reservation is through the Room Reservation menu in MyJYU.
  • If no one arrives within 15 minutes of the reservation start time, the room may be used by others until the next scheduled reservation.
  • Teaching reservations take priority. If necessary, a student reservation may be cancelled to accommodate teaching. The person who made the reservation will always be notified.

After using the space

  • Please leave the room in the same condition as it was when you arrived:
    • Return any furniture you have moved to its original place.
    • Dispose of waste in the appropriate recycling and waste bins.

Please note: Room reservations for student associations registered to the sphere of JYY are made via the KOVS system in accordance with the instructions provided to the student associations.
