Stipends for students who graduate within the target time
The IT Faculty will award a €300 stipend to bachelor's, master's, and engineering degree graduates who complete their studies within the target time frame between 2026 and 2029. The criteria for calculating the target time frame are determined at the national level by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The criteria for calculating the target time are as follows:
- The minimum credit requirement for the degree determines the target time for completing the degree. In the calculation, the study time is considered in months and semesters.
- A bachelor's degree (180 credits) corresponds to 6 semesters or 36 months, i.e. 3 years.
- For a master's/engineering degree (120 credits), the time frame is 4 semesters and 24 months, i.e. 2 years.
- A bachelor's + master's degree (300 credits) corresponds to 10 semesters and 60 months, or 5 years.
- The study time is calculated from the start of the right to study and the time taken to complete the degree in semesters and months, and any absences are deducted from the time used.
- If the study time in semesters or months is less than or equal to the target time, the degree has been completed within the target time.
Bachelor's and master's/engineering students can be awarded stipends for both degrees if they complete them within the target time frame between 2026 and 2029. If a student takes four years to complete their bachelor's degree but completes their master's/DI degree in two years, the calculated five-year target time will be exceeded, and the student will not be eligible for a stipend for the higher degree either.
The IT Faculty receives a list of graduates who will receive stipends on a monthly basis. The faculty coordinator will contact the stipend recipients by email using the email addresses listed in the Sisu information for graduates. Stipend recipients will be contacted during the calendar month following their graduation. During holiday periods, there may be a delay in contacting recipients.
