Annual registration and extended residence permit of tuition-paying students
Before registering for attendance at the University, tuition-paying students must pay the tuition fee for the semester(s) for which they plan to register for attendance. After you have paid the tuition fee, it takes 1-2 days for your payment information to be updated in the student register and OILI. After the information has been updated, you will be able to register for attendance in OILI.
! Please note, that if you receive JYU Scholarship, which covers 50% of the tuition fee, you need to both pay the tuition fee and inform us that you have completed 55 ECTS (see the section below) before you can register for attendance.
If you need to apply for an extension to your residence permit, you can do so only after paying the tuition fee and registering for attendance for the next academic year or semester.
Annual registration and extended residence permit of scholarship recipients
Before registering for attendance at the University for their second academic year, students who have received Finland Scholarship or JYU Scholarship must have at least 55 ECTS credits of degree studies in the study register. After you have earned the required credits, please inform us by filling in the HelpJYU form, so we can update the information on your scholarship for the second academic year in the student register. It takes 1-2 days for the information to transfer to OILI, after which you will be able to register for attendance for the next academic year.
! Please note, that if you receive JYU Scholarship, which covers 50% of the tuition fee, you need to both pay the tuition fee and inform us that you have completed 55 ECTS (see the section above) before you can register for attendance.
If you need to apply for an extension to your residence permit, you can only do so after registering for attendance for the next academic year or semester. After you have informed us of completing 55 ECTS credits, you can request a certificate stating that the tuition fee scholarship has been granted to you for the next academic year. You will need to attach this certificate to your application for the residence permit.
