Each One Teach One (EOTO)
What is Each One Teach One (EOTO)?
Each One Teach One, more commonly known as EOTO, is a pair language learning programme coordinated by the Center for Multilingual Academic Communication (Movi). In the EOTO program, you learn both your partner’s first language (or language of schooling) and culture. In return, you help your partner become familiar with your own first language and culture. Participation in the programme does not require language teaching qualification or teacher training.
During the programme, you meet regularly with your partner, usually once or twice a week. You study both languages for at least 20 hours with your partner (20 + 20 hours). Language learning also includes doing homework, preparing for meetings, and reporting on your learning according to instructions. Supervisors meet with you at the beginning and end of the programme. Between these meetings, they read and comment on your blog, thereby guiding your learning.
When you complete the programme successfully, you receive two credits for elective studies in the language you have studied. You can take one EOTO course at a time. You can complete the programme more than once, but no more than twice per language. Please note that an EOTO course cannot substitute other Movi courses.
