Functional Brain Lab
The Functional Brain Lab (FBL) of the Faculty of Sport Sciences is focused on the study of the human neuromuscular system from the perspective of the brain, but offers excellent equipment for any kind of brain stimulation research.
The FBL is equipped with a neuronavigated (Localite) transcranial magnetic stimulation system (nTMS; MagPro R30) and compatible 80-channel electroencephalography (EEG; NeurOneTesla) and electromyography (EMG) equipment, enabling nTMS-EEG measurement. The equipment also allows for, among other things, paired-pulse and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS).
A robot assisted multi-locus TMS system is scheduled for commissioning in autumn 2026. The system enables automated stimulation protocols in which the stimulation location and orientation can be adjusted electronically within milliseconds, eliminating the need for physical coil repositioning.
