Reading room loans and storage places

Requests for reading room loans

Material from the legal deposit collection (Fennica) cannot be borrowed for home loan. You can order it from the closed stacks for use in a reading room if there are no other copies in open collections.

The request can be made online through the JYKDOK database, at the Library's service point or by e-mail jykneuvonta@library.jyu.fi
Requests are free of charge.
The materials will be available within 1–2 working days as a rule. In summer the materials are being delivered less frequently than usual.
Request arrival notices will be sent by email.
The items can be collected within a week at the Library's service point (Lähde, upper basement floor).
The loan period is 90 days. You can renew loans twice.

Storage places for reading room loans

Since the material can only be used on the premises, you need a storage place for it.

You can request a storage place from the Library's service point.
When you no longer need your storage place, please notify a librarian and return the materials you have borrowed.
You can store short-term loans (max. 2 weeks) on the self-service shelves.
All the storage places are accessible when Lähde is open.

All storage places are reserved for the storage of material from the legal deposit collection.
