Scholarships available for students who must pay tuition fees
At the University of Jyväskylä, we annually have more than 1,000 foreign students, half of whom participate in English-medium master’s degree programmes and the rest in doctoral programmes or as exchange students. Students who are not citizens of EU/EEA countries or Switzerland have to pay an annual tuition fee for their studies at JYU.
For these students, JYU provides a chance to apply for scholarships to cover the tuition fee costs. The scholarships can be applied for using the same Opintopolku application form that is used for applying for study rights. For each master’s degree programme, there is also one Finland Scholarship, which covers 100% of tuition fees and includes a one-time award of 5,000 euros for living costs.
