Three new international master's programmes
For the 2024 joint call for applications, three exciting new programmes are open: the master’s programmes in Physics, Chemistry and Analytics for Circular Economy, and High-Performance Computing.
Master's Degree Programme in Physics is unique in that it offers a wide range of courses and is bilingual. The programme consists of four fields of study, from which students can choose the one they want to specialise in. The bilingual programme can be completed in Finnish or English. The wide range of orientations opens doors to the application of physics in many different fields of physics, such as medicine, radiation physics or software engineering.
Master’s Degree Programme in Chemistry and Analytics for Circular Economy (CACE) offers unique expertise in the chemistry of circular economy. The curriculum combines the basics of circular economy as well as the recovery and upcycling of both metals and bio-based materials, with a strong focus on analytical chemistry. During the master's studies, a broad range of theoretical and practical knowledge is acquired.
Master’s Degree Programme in High-Performance Computing (HPC) combines natural sciences and information technology in a completely new way. The programme is unique in Finland, as well as rare internationally. The overarching theme of the programme is combining skills in computer science to pressing problems in natural science. Students learn to develop and apply parallel and distributed computing methods to multidisciplinary problems. Students can choose to specialise in either computer science, physics or chemistry.
JYU offers scholarships for students liable to pay the tuition fee
The University of Jyväskylä hosts more than 1000 foreign students each year, about one third of whom study in international master's programmes and the rest in doctoral programmes or as exchange students. Students who are not citizens of EU/EEA countries or Switzerland must pay a tuition fee for their studies.
The University of Jyväskylä offers students liable to pay the tuition fee the opportunity to apply for a scholarship covering 50% of the tuition fee using the same application form as for applying for a study place on Studyinfo.fi. This scholarship is automatically granted to all eligible applicants, successfully admitted to our international master's programmes.
Each master's programme also offers one Finland Scholarship, which includes a 100% tuition fee scholarship and a one-off living allowance of €5,000.
Read the admission criteria before applying
