- We have not been able to catch up with the time before Corona, but the direction is good. It is especially great that the congresses that were held in Jyväskylä, were mainly organized in-person and only a few were organized as hybrids. This is great news for the local accommodation, catering and other program operators and business owners in the area, says Jaana Ruponen, the marketing manager of Jyväskylä Convention Bureau.

The local organizing committee was mostly the University of Jyväskylä and the goal of the event was to share scientific research information and strengthen international scientific networks.

- According to international studies, meeting face-to-face, sharing research information and creating international research networks and contacts is very important. That's why the majority of congresses will definitely be organized on site in the future, says Ruponen.

Jyväskylä Convention Bureau (JCB) helps the organizers of international meetings and congresses to apply for events in their field in Jyväskylä. The operation is based on a network formed by 22 public communities and companies. The operation of the network is managed by the city of Jyväskylä. The statistics were carried out by the Jyväskylä Convention Bureau and the University of Jyväskylä.
