Coronavirus policies at JYU: contact teaching implemented as planned, obligation to use a mask to ensure health security
Read the instructions for using face masks at JYU.
Teaching from the beginning of period 3 (from 1 January 2022):
Teaching will be implemented in accordance with the plans made in autumn and planned contact teaching will be implemented on the campus always when the pandemic situation so allows.
Actions to promote health security must be implemented also in period 3. The most important actions are to wear a mask and take care of hand hygiene and safe distances.
For the use of facilities, the aim is that group sizes do not exceed the room-specific limitations (75% of the maximum capacity) to ensure health security.
JYU will take at the most 300 exchange students and international interns for the spring term 2022.
Events:
It is possible to arrange both internal and external events at the University by taking care of health security and valid authority restrictions and orders. The organiser of the event is responsible for the safety of the event, the observation of authority restrictions, and the possible inspection of COVID-19 passports.
In events open for the public arranged by JYU, it is possible to demand people to show the COVID-19 passport as an entry requirement to the event, if there is a deviation from the occupancy restrictions set by authorities. Such an event must be planned and located in a facility and time that participating people can be separated from other activities. We cannot oblige a COVID-19 passport in connection of teaching.
A health security plan must be created for events of more than 150 persons.
The public examinations of doctoral dissertations are considered as open public events. Therefore, authority orders on the person restrictions of public events apply to the public examination events. Person restrictions can be deviated by requiring participants to show the COVID-19 passport.
The situation and the policies will be assessed next time on 16 February 2022.
