Earth Hour on Saturday March 25th from 8:30pm to 9:30pm
The annual Earth Hour takes place once again next Saturday. Earth Hour is an event hosted by the environment organization WWF in which everyone all over the world can take part in. According to its name, unnecessary lights are switched off for an hour during the event for the sake of nature and climate.

In addition to switching off lights, this year WWF encourages to use the hour to do something else for the Earth as well. You can for example watch a nature documentary, learn to cook a sustainable meal or change your light bulbs to more eco-friendly and energy efficient options.
The University of Jyväskylä takes part in Earth Hour by switching off every buildings’ outdoor lighting.
