Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation awards €17 million of grants
Research grants cover a wide range of research in the social and economic sciences, the natural sciences, the technical sciences, the behavioural sciences and the humanities. The Foundation provides support specifically for researchers at the start of their careers. The Foundation awarded funding to a total of 239 research projects, of which 182 were grants for Doctoral Researchers.
The Foundation awarded a total of 19 grants to the University of Jyväskylä, amounting to a total of 456,500 euros. The largest grant, amounting to 50,000 euros, was awarded to the Helsinki University Museum Flame for the organisation of a joint exhibition and events project in Helsinki and Jyväskylä, focusing on neglected and often overlooked topics in the history of Finnish science. Seventeen grants were awarded to researchers, mainly for doctoral thesis work.
