JYU’s ethical principles (Code of Conduct) entwine the laws, agreements and our strategy to guide our operation. They serve as our guidelines to responsible and lawful action based on our University’s values: openness, trust, quality and integrity.

The principles concern every member of our university community. Each of us is also entitled to tell openly about detected problems. If a person working with our staff or University encounters at his or her work any unlawful conduct and suspects malpractice, we want to be informed about it. It is important to address grievances so that we can take appropriate corrective measures.

Using the new reporting channel, JYU employees, grant researchers and subcontractors can confidentially report suspected breaches or malpractices related to the University in issues in line with the Whistleblower directive. The University may not take any countermeasures against or pose any sanctions to the reporter in consequence of reporting such breaches.

The reporting channel will open on 1 March 2023 on a webpage Activities in situations of special concern.
