JYU.Edu’s ‘Sparks of Education’ research seminar presented the latest research on teaching and learning

The ‘Sparks of Education’ research seminar brought together researchers, teachers, students and educational developers at Ruusupuisto on 21 April 2026 to hear about and discuss current issues in teaching and learning research. During the afternoon, the seminar featured dozens of short research presentations in parallel sessions, as well as an opportunity to explore a wide range of research projects at a poster exhibition.

The parallel sessions were organised thematically around language teaching, teacher training, creativity education, educational technology, career pathways, lifelong learning and lesson analysis. A poster exhibition complemented the seminar with a wide range of themes related to learning and teacher training, as well as the opportunity to discuss these with researchers.

The seminar offered participants not only up-to-date research findings but also opportunities to network within the field of teaching and learning research.

The diverse range of topics offered new perspectives and sparked ideas for developing one’s own work.

JYU.Edu’s multidisciplinary ‘Sparks of Education’ research seminar supports the University of Jyväskylä’s goal of strengthening research-based educational development and the dialogue between research and practice. The seminar was enthusiastically received by participants and will be continued in spring 2027.

A warm thank you to all participants!
