Maintenance break: firewall implementation on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 7 p.m.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the old internal network firewall will be replaced with a new solution, which will have a broad impact on the functioning of university services and the login of several services using IT systems on campus.
The implementation will cause service interruptions for several services, as the changes will affect areas that include user authentication systems related to service use.
The following service impacts have already been identified (the service list will be updated):
- Wireless network (WLAN) on campus
- VPN remote access connections (including staff and students)
- Logging in to HAKA services (Shibboleth) Affects all services that use HAKA login, including: Moodle, Mepco, SAP, eParking-application
- Redcap
- Oma and Hali services
- ILPO portal
- EXAM services
- Services related to the use of facilities
- Lockers, student lockers, and mailboxes
- New reservations cannot be made for Enkoran student lockers and lockers (this particularly affects the two hundred storage lockers in the lower corridor of the sports hall).
- Sports students have access to approximately 400 lockers that work with the onThemove app. The lockers will not work at all during the maintenance break.
- Remote key update units (electromechanical keys): Key update devices will have a shorter operating time for keys in offline mode, and the device lights may differ from normal.
- Parking: eParking- application (new parking reservations cannot be made during maintenance breaks)
- Lockers, student lockers, and mailboxes
During the maintenance period, please be prepared for service interruptions of varying duration and network traffic disruptions on campus and in services. The data communication interruptions will also affect logging in to various services outside the university (e.g., HAKA login), as these services use systems located on campus to identify users.
The M365 environment and emails will function partially normally during the service interruption, but it is advisable to prepare for disruptions in these services as well. If you have logged in to the services before the service interruption, you will be able to use most of the services normally during the maintenance work.
