Mayor Timo Koivisto receives the Puolestapuhuja (Advocate) award of JYU
Mayor Timo Koivisto is the first recipient of the Puolestapuhuja (Advocate) award of the University of Jyväskylä. Mayor Koivisto has meritoriously spoken for the University and, with an active approach, promoted the cooperation of the City of Jyväskylä and the University.

The award was granted in the Central Finland science seminar on 16 November 2021. The award is awarded annually to a person who has meritoriously advocated and promoted the cause of the University of Jyväskylä in society. The awardee was selected by the board of the Jyväskylä University Foundation based on a proposal of separate jury. The prize is a work of art made for this purpose by Kirsi Neuvonen.
