Note these changes when applying for a study place in JYU

Application fee
Starting from 1 Jan 2025, applicants from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies that lead to a degree.
If you are from outside the aforementioned area and you are applying to Bachelor's or Master's level studies in Finland, you will need to pay the application fee (EUR 100).
The Finnish National Agency of Education will collect the application fee in connection with filling out the application form at the Finnish national education portal Studyinfo.
New income requirements
The Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) changed the income thresholds for some types of the residence permits starting from 1 November. The threshold for a residence permit for studies is 9,600 € per year (800 € per month).
GMAT/GRE into the admission criteria
The GMAT and GRE are internationally recognised tests that measure academic ability, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. In the next application round, we will be introducing GMAT and GRE tests as part of the admission criteria for our three master's degree programmes:
- Banking and International Finance (BIF)
- Digital Marketing and Corporate Communication (DMCC)
- International Business and Entrepreneurship (IBE)
If you have not completed a previous higher education degree in the EU area, you are required to take the GMAT/GRE test.
