From 7 December, the University of Jyväskylä takes the remote work recommendation into use when duties so allow. However, the purpose is not to interrupt planned contact teaching or research. The remote work recommendation is valid until further notice and its grounds will be reviewed at the latest on 15 February 2022.

Face masks should be used in all facilities where you are not alone. Exceptions to this are situations in which it is impossible to use a mask. Masks should be used in teaching and studying situations. The University will provide masks required for working and contact teaching for the staff and students. Face masks provided by the University are meant to be used primarily for working and studying.

In meetings and events, a remote implementation should be favoured during the validity of the remote work recommendation. Close contacts should take place upon consideration, in sufficiently spacious facilities, and by taking care of health security. Upon the decision of the Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI), all public events and meetings indoors with over 50 persons are prohibited in Jyväskylä.

In addition to preventing the spreading of the pandemic, the remote work recommendation aims to enable safe and quarantine-free Christmas time for all.
