Researchers' Night returns to Jyväskylä for the tenth time, and this year, for the first time, Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) will also be participating. The event will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, and it'll give the whole family an awesome trip into the world of science.

The theme of the event is community – research is not done alone, but through collaboration between the entire scientific community. During the day and evening, the audience will be able to enjoy a diverse program where science comes to life in workshops, exhibitions, and expert lectures.

On the campuses of the University of Jyväskylä, you can dive into the world of crime scene investigation, test your grip strength, marvel at the life of a mussel, and explore the timeline of the universe. Puppet theater will entertain all ages, and during the evening, you will also find out what bioimpedance is.

At Jamk's main campus on Rajakatu, you can try your hand at e-sports and marvel at what a hologram twin looks like. Do you know where salmon get their color? Or that microalgae can produce hydrogen when stressed? Come and gather superpowers for your family and learn about exoskeletons.

The daytime program at the university is aimed at school groups and Jamk's working life networks. Everyone is welcome to the evening event on all campuses!

Researchers' Night will take place on the Seminaarinmäki, Mattilanniemi, and Ylistönrinne campuses of the University of Jyväskylä, as well as on Jamk's main campus on Rajakatu. The event is celebrated simultaneously across Europe, and in Finland it is the largest annual science event. A more detailed program will be published during the summer and fall.

The City of Light will also illuminate the Researchers' Night program in Jyväskylä this year! The City of Light will organize a variety of light-themed events in Mattilanniemi, Ruusupuisto, Lounaispuisto, Kirkkopuisto, Kompassi, Arenaurikko, and Tourujoki from September 25 to 27, 2025.
