The drawing room continues in the autumn
The drawing room invites you to pause and reflect on your observations and to deepen your drawing skills. The fall semester begins with classical drawing after plaster models and develops throughout the academic year toward experimental methods of observational drawing.
Work proceeds based on each participant’s own starting points and goals. Sessions may include brief introductions to materials, techniques, or other themes that deepen one’s understanding of drawing.
The drawing studio activities are led by Joonas Suomalainen-Sallinen, a doctoral researcher in art education. Both university students and staff are welcome to participate, regardless of their prior drawing experience.
The fall sessions will take place every other Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the fourth floor of the main building, in room C418. There is space for 20 people per session. Register using this form. Registration opens on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Be sure to cancel your registration if you are unable to attend. You must log in with your Haka credentials to access the registration form.
Participation in the drawing workshop is free of charge. Art supplies are at your own expense. You can purchase lithography poster paper on site. Standard H, HB, and B pencils are suitable for use.
Session dates for 2026; you can sign up for individual sessions or all of them at once.
