The University of Jyväskylä implements the spreading phase limitations of COVID-19
The situation requires drastic measures and the University of Jyväskylä implements the strictest limitations of the spreading phase. Only separately defined critical activities will continue on the campus. The decision on the criticality of an activity is made by the head of the unit (the dean, the director of the independent institute or the Finance and Service Director). The limitation also applies to research activities.
Moving on the campus will be limited by keeping entrance doors locked as in spring 2020. Access to each building takes place only through defined doors and always using the personal access card. In compliance with the policy of the City of Jyväskylä, also museums are closed.
Any internships or teaching practice will not take place in week 5, excluding those arranged remotely. Library will be closed completely on 1–2 February 2021.
Students will not participate in activities on the campus (including research, guidance discussions, data acquisition), excluding the limited use of library service point from Wednesday, 3 February 2021. Student cafeterias will sell only take away food.
This supplementary decision applies to week 5. Decisions about week 6 will be made on Thursday, 4 February 2021, after the overall situation has become clearer.
From Monday, the Secondary School of Jyväskylä Teacher Training School will move to exceptional teaching arrangements. On 1–7 February, teaching will be implemented remotely. Exceptional teaching arrangements do not apply to pupils who have a decision on special support. Their teaching will be arranged as contact teaching at school. Upper secondary school education will include only necessary actions that prepare students for matriculation examinations. The principals of the Teacher Training School will provide more information about the operating model.
On 28 January 2021, the University of Jyväskylä notified that all teaching on the campus has been interrupted until 28 February 2021.
