University of Jyväskylä included in the list of the best universities in Europe

The QS Europe University Rankings ranked European universities for the first time in the UK. The top rankings wereUniversity of Oxford and ETH Zurich.
- In this ranking, the international reputation of a university is a strong factor. We can be satisfied with our ranking. It shows that our research and education is also highly regarded internationally, says Vice-Rector Henrik Kunttu.
The ranking is based on five indicators, each of which has a different weighting in the comparison: research and innovation (45%), employment and results (20%), student-faculty ratio (5%), international cooperation (30%), and sustainability (5%).
JYU scored highest in the student-faculty ratio, ranking as high as 46th in Europe. The lowest score was for the number of international students.
In the global QS university ranking published in the summer, the University of Jyväskylä was ranked 446. There were 9 Finnish universities in the ranking, of which JYU was seventh.
