University preparing for autumn semester in line with previous Covid policies
The Covid situation in Finland has deteriorated. The policies prepared by the University of Jyväskylä in June regarding the autumn semester were based on a scenario that includes a growing number of infections at the end of the summer, with the epidemic spreading among young adults in particular. The scenario also assumed that a major part of students are without vaccine protection when the autumn semester begins.

Based on a current assessment of the situation, the previous policies are in line with the actual development of the epidemic. We can now prepare for launching the autumn semester with alternating periods of remote work and working on the campus. The preferred teaching method will combine classroom teaching with remote teaching.
The university's coronavirus monitoring group will meet next on 10 August to assess the situation. The extended coronavirus management group will meet on 12 August. The university continually monitors the development of the epidemic, consults health authorities, and prepares the necessary policies based on how the situation evolves.
