I work as a senior lecturer at the Centre of Multilingual Academic Communication. My main teaching responsibilities include research and science communication courses for doctoral students, pedagogical professional development courses for staff, and an elective course in translation and culture.
My research interests include multilingualism and multilingual communication, critical pedagogies in English-medium contexts, scholarly and science communication within and beyond academia, particularly science communication as a form of interepistemic translation, and translation (professional, paraprofessional, and non-professional) as a broad range of social and intercultural practices, including their pedagogical implications.
My primary research interests are in critical applied linguistics, translation studies, and critical pedagogy.
Topics that I am currently interested in include doctoral students' researcher identity; equity and social justice topics in doctoral-level research communication courses; language and translation awareness in research and writing for publication; language practices and sense of belonging in multilingual academic work communities; culturally responsive pedagogies; and translation and mediation as pedagogical resources for intercultural learning.
