I am currently working on my PhD concerning informal care in the context of an ageing society, social care policy changes and legislative changes in Finland since the 1990s.

In my study, I research how the presumption of family and friends has influenced the changing expectations in social and elder care. The aim is to analyse the changing roles of informal and formal care in elder care, i.e., the growing role of family (incl., relatives, friends) in caring of the ageing population.
