Biography
I help students and organizations in analyzing accounting information, using acounting systems (incl. AI) and understanding changes in accounting work. This facilitates better business, learning and reporting, including academic writing of theses and accounting reports. I am a professor of accounting in the accounting and corporate finance discipline and the vice dean for education at the University of Jyväskylä, School of Business and Economics (JSBE). My research and teaching interests cover management accounting, the changing roles of accounting professionals, public sector accounting, financial statement analysis, auditing, and accounting information systems (e.g. SAP HANA). The common focus here is the changing accounting work and the relevance of accounting information. One of my current projects involves bank merger research funded by the OP Pohjola Research Foundation. I also actively participate in editorial boards and reviewer work and to various development groups at the University of Jyväskylä.
