Arto Valkonen

My research interests lie in understanding structure-based properties of organic molecules and weak non-covalent interactions, which are extremely important in the field of chemistry. The large part of my research involves solid state structural chemistry, especially single crystal X-ray diffraction, by which the locations of atoms can be accurately defined. Furthermore, I quantitatively utilize solution NMR facilities of the department in my explorations. My research efforts also include the preparation on new compounds and supramolecular assemblies, as well as their characterization.
