I work as a postdoctoral researcher on the Develop project, funded by the Research Council of Finland for 2025–2029, at the Faculty of Education and Psychology. In the project, we investigate how the ability to evaluate the credibility of online texts develops during upper secondary school and the factors associated with this development. In addition, we are developing a scenario-based digital assessment environment to measure the diverse prior knowledge required for online credibility evaluation.
My research contributes to students' critical online reading skills, particularly their abilities to evaluate the credibility of online texts and engage in sourcing practices during writing. I am also interested in which factors are related to students' skills, how these skills develop, and how critical online reading skills can be taught efficiently.
