I’m interested in studying human and animal cognitive processes, social cognition, and emotion recognition. In our studies, we have developed novel animal-friendly methods adapted from human research. We have compared humans’ and dogs’ cognitive processes with eye tracking, measured visual event-related potentials of dogs with EEG and utilized activity and heart rate measurements. In current projects, we are studying social interaction between humans and dogs, and the effects of medicines on dogs’ cognitive processes. Benefits of our research are improving human-dog interactions, welfare, and patient care in dogs.
