Ina Ihalainen

I work as a doctoral researcher at Department of Teacher Education at the University of Jyväskylä as part of the EDUCA-Doc Doctoral Education Pilot. My research aligns with the objectives of the EDUCA Flagship, which seeks to strengthen research-informed education policy in Finland. My research interests broadly encompass sociology and politics of education.

In my dissertation, I investigate municipal strategy work and education policy within the context of demographic change. Specifically, I examine local decision-making processes and the structural conditions for organizing basic education in municipalities characterized by economic and demographic divergence.
