Biography
I am a university lecturer in statistics at the Department of mathematics and statistics.
My research focuses on multivariate statistical modeling and latent variable models. These methods are particularly useful for analyzing multivariate data, which are common in fields such as community ecology. My work has involved the development of statistical methods for studying species co-occurrence patterns and correlations within ecological communities, relationships among environmental variables, species traits, and abundance, as well as dependency structures across space and time. I have also developed and applied methods for evaluating and predicting restoration outcomes. In addition, my research has focused on the application of statistical methodologies in sport and health sciences.
My office is in Agora, located in Mattilanniemi.
Research interests
I’m interested in multivariate statistical modeling. My research focuses on studying and developing computational tools and statistical methods for modeling spatial and temporal patterns, for example, in ecological community data.
